FMCW radar: failure observation thread start

Dear Dr. Ikeda,

The last recorded data was 27 Jan 2011. The SKSONDE Management software
says: “failure: obs thread start”.

Shall I restart the system? Sorry, I misplaced my radar notebook and I
forgot the details on how to restart. What do I type in the SkManager
and Matlab?

Sincerely yours,

Dr. Sugon
Manila Observatory

P.S. I am now working on the content of the web page of the SERC
subcenter in Manila Observatory website. I’ll put the history of the
subcenter and the radar details.

    Yes, please restart the SkManager.

    1.quit SkManager by typing “q”.
    2.type “SkManager manila_091012.sch”.

    If you stopped the Matlab,
please type “manila_startup2″ in the command window
    of the Matlab.
P.S. I am now working on the content of the web page of the SERC
subcenter in Manila Observatory website. I’ll put the history of the

    Thank you very much.
If you need some information about this matter.
    I will provide you.

    Dear Dr. Ikeda/SERC,

I typed “q” in SkManager, but its “end processing…” looks like its not
    going to end.

I tried to open Matlab, but there is a warning: “Java exception
occurred.” The MATLAB startup window opened, but it hid the error
messages. Below are the error messages that I can read:

    java.lang.ExceptionInitialializer…
    at java.lang.Class.for…
    at com.mathworks.jmi…

    Caused by:java uitl.MissingResol…
    at java.util.ResourceBu…
    at com.mathworks.mwe

Would you recommend that I shutdown the whole system and restart?

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Yes. Please restart the whole system.

    [1]Shut down the control PC
[2]Turn off the transmitter and receiver

    wait a minute

[3]Turn on the receiver and transmitter
    [4]Boot the PC
    [5]execute [pagent.exe]
[6]execute [Command Prompt] and type “SkManager manila_091012.sch”
    [7]execute [Matlab] and type “manila_startup2″

A shortcut of [pageant.exe] is in the Startup.
Shortcuts of [Command Prompt] and [Matlab] are in the Desktop.

    If you have any questions,
please feel free to ask me.
